Crookedwood GAA Notes

Intermediate Championship

Crookedwood 1-18 Clonkill 2-10. Our 5th game in the IHC pitted us against our parish neighbours in the unfamiliar surroundings of Shandonagh on Friday last. Our opponents played the better hurling early on but we settled better and were able to put the scores on the board. We went in seven points to the good at half time (0-11 to 0-4) but the scoreline didn’t represent the close nature of the first half. A pointed free from Barry O’Mara straight after the break had us eight up but from there on Clonkill took over, scoring 2-3 without reply in the process to take the lead. Another pointed free from Barry steadied the ship but Clonkill posted the next two points to lead by 2 with ten minutes to play. However, that turned out to be Clonkills last contribution to the scoreboard. We finished strong and added 1-4 to run out five-point winners.

IHC Fixture

Our final round fixture sees us taking on our other parish neighbours Cullion on Wednesday @ 6:30 in Cusack Park. All support would be appreciated
