CRICK WILDLIFE & ENVIRONMENT PROJECT

Crick is a small village situated in the Monmouthshire countryside between Chepstow and Newport. We have around 50 houses clustered around a junction on the A48. There is a small brook running through the village with some woodland and arable and livestock farms surrounding us.

CWEP was set up in 2010 when, with support from Tidy Towns, a group of residents got together to decide how to improve our area. Since then we have grown from the initial concept to a fully fledged voluntary organisation. We have been awarded various grants which we have used to buy equipment to aid in the planting of flower beds and clearing of the overgrown areas.

After trying fairly relentlessly for a couple of years, in 2012 we obtained access to a field to develop as a wildflower meadow and maybe even an orchard.

Staffed by enthusiasts we are all committed to enhancing Crick and its local wildlife. We have a number of enthusiastic gardeners and birdwatchers as members and welcome any contact with people wishing just to get to know more about us or wanting to get involved.
