"After you've decided on the point, pick the elements and writing techniques to help you get the point across."
Some examples of elements and writing techniques that will help support the point you're making:
In my story that's meant to show how a very ordinary and average person can become a villain over time, I will use....
Characterization to depict a very ordinary child who starts life as innocent and naive
Plot development to show how certain incidents teach him that others cannot be trusted and that human nature is selfish.
An extended metaphor that compares human beings to savage animals, in order to show what the character ends up believing about people
A twist ending where the reader discovers that this naive and innocent child is actually a dangerous super villain. (Or, how about a real-life criminal from history?)
