The 2025 Creative Writing Programme (CWP) is organised by the Gifted Education Branch (GEB), Ministry of Education. It is targeted at Primary 5 pupils who are verbally talented, and aims to nurture budding writers in the art of creative writing.
It comprises a pre-camp Enrichment Session and a two-day in-person non-residential camp. Pupils admitted to the camp will also have the chance to submit their works to be considered for publication in Mementoes, a compilation of poetry and prose works gleaned from CWP.

CWP Tier 1 Enrichment Session (27 March 2025)
An online outreach Enrichment Session with a published writer will be held on 27 March, from 2.30 to 5 p.m., to give pupils a taste of creative writing. Schools should ensure nominated pupils are available and send in their nominations by 20 March 2025, 5pm. The organisers will contact schools to inform them of the outcome of the registration by 21 March. Schools must seek parental consent for students’ participation in this event.
CWP Camp (8 and 9 September 2025)
An in-person, non-residential camp will take place over two days over the September holidays. During the camp, participants will get to interact with like-minded peers and develop their creative writing skills under the guidance of published writers. Selection for the camp is based on portfolio submission, and participation in the Tier 1 Enrichment Session is not a prerequisite.
Pupils interested in attending the CWP camp must apply through their teachers. Teachers will submit the applications on the behalf of each pupil online. The following must be submitted: a portfolio consisting of 3 Creative Writing Pieces & 3 Accompanying Reflection Notes; and 1 Creative Writing Challenge Piece.
The completed application must be submitted by 30 June 2025, 5pm. Late applications will not be accepted. Schools will be informed of the application results latest by 22 August 2025.
CWP Publication (after the Camp)
CWP Camp 2025 participants will have the chance to apply their learning from the camp to refine a portfolio piece or create a new work for publication in Mementoes, a compilation of CWP Camp participants' poetry and prose.
