This comforter is made from a piece of brocade with embroidery that I used while living in the cold winter of South Korea. My extended stay lasted ten months when I taught English to and climbed mountains with Korean friends. Between all of my busy days, I often hand sewed the borders of the quilt to add embellishments and to take advantage of the beautiful colors that I found at the downtown market in the city of Ulsan.
This quilt was actually put together by a small electric sewing machine in the bedroom of my studio apartment while living in Mexico. Staying true to my love of sewing, I can now say that I made quilts in both foreign countries where I travelled to teach English. The exchange in Mexico was that I got to learn Spanish as well. I ended up giving this quilt to a friend after much use from my cats at the time. The fabric is made in Mexico.
