Hello, my name is Kim Calderon and I have been a middle school Science/STEM teacher at Sutter Middle School in Fowler, CA for the last 11 years. In those 11 years I have taught all 3 grade levels (6th, 7th & 8th) and I have also taught all the disciplines of science (Earth, Life & Physical). I have been trained in SIOP protocols, Project Based Learning and Kagan strategies and have worked to combine the three into a general teaching strategy that strives to meet the needs of all my students. Over the course of the last 5 years we have transitioned to an integrated Science model using the Next Generation Science Standards. Over the last 4 years I have also developed and implemented a STEM class, where I have tried to integrate PBL with NGSS to create immersive learning experiences for my students.
