Each hash starts with the Hare giving a chalk talk. The Hare for the trail will explain their marks they will be using.
They could be flour or chalk marks
These are the basic ones below.
This is a hash mark. You will follow/search for these. Three in a row means you are on trail.
This is a CHECK, which means trail stops here. You will have to go searching for true trail. Usually, true trail will be within 100 feet. Be careful, if you find trail but there are only two hash marks, not three, this is not the way, go back to the check and look again.
The FRB (Front Running Bastard) should place an arrow on the CHECK signifying they have found true trail, go the way of the arrow.
This is a TRUE TRAIL mark; trail continues in the direction the TRUE TRAIL arrow points. There will not be any false trails or trickery after TRUE TRIAL marks until you get to the next CHECK
THIS is what we are looking for BEER NEAR! Coyote Ugly uses this to mark where the Beer (booze) is hidden or that we are going into a Bar. (Other kennels us BC or Beer Check. )
YBF ; YOU'VE BEEN FUCKED. This was not actually the true trail go back to the check and look for true trail again.
LIke and YBF, this signafys you were on a false trail, go back tothe check and look for true trail again.
Almost like a YBF or a FALSE TRAIL mark, this is a GO BACK, the number on the top right indicates how many hash marks to go back. In this case the 9th mark back is now a CHECK, go look for true trail from that 9th mark back from the GO BACK mark
