The purpose of this track is to map the societal impact of knowledge, participation, and entrepreneurship in the cultural sector. We want to explore the relevance of new sources, dimensions, and characteristics of knowledge supporting creative and cultural organizations and initiatives. Knowledge and experience are important elements for cultural organizations and initiatives and their societal impact. They highlight fundamental questions and provide reflective platforms for societal discourses. Furthermore, we want to address the relevance of culture, cultural entities and heritage as collective memories and reservoirs for other social systems, change and societal innovators like entrepreneurs. Herewith various methods, approaches and paradigms of studying societal impact are connected.
In line with the general aim, we are particularly interested in studies seeking to challenge the complexity of knowledge in the management and governance of the cultural sector from different theoretical perspectives and with different methodological approaches. We are interested in empirical and theoretical studies connected to the fields of arts, culture, creativity and regional and urban development.
