 A short history of CBH3 as told by Dee Eff ...

The club's first GM was a co-GMship with Echo and Clot, who pretty much jointly founded the club, with Darcy Dugan having some part in proceedings, though the stories vary. Darcy Dugan set the inaugural run on 14/11/96, this is why we aim to have the AGM on or as near to that date as possible. The first club shirts were the ones with the Bart Simpson motif on them, which was designed by the talented Lubra.

That first run was from the Batesford Pub, had 12 runners - Echo, Clot, Darcy, Fiveskin, Kunni, Lubra, Dee Eff, Metho, Gerry Gee, Marlin, Fergie and Slammer. We got back to the pub, and Fergie arrived about 20 minutes after the pack, having done the whole run, one of the rare occasions he was to do this! The ice was there from the outset, the themes in the ice came along a bit later.

The numbers varied, with 7 runners (including hare) on the third run and up to 20 (on 2 occasions), with an average of about 13! The charge for the GM for 13 runners was coined later.
