Friends of Corfe Castle Community Library

We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Registered Charity Number 1162163) run by a Board of Trustees, all volunteers and living in Corfe Castle. The current trustees are Alison Allwright (Chair), Martyn Jessop and Joy Carter. We have over 25 volunteers, who all help run the library, some for just 3 hours a month, some for 3 hours a week or more. Volunteering with our library is a good way of making friends and meeting people, as well as contributing to the wellbeing of the community. We also have a good number of Friends who support us in other ways.

The objects of the Friends of Corfe Castle Community Library are:

1. To advance the education of the general public in Corfe Castle and the surrounding area, in particular but not exclusively by the provision of a lending library;

2. To further or benefit the residents of Corfe Castle and the neighbourhood, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.
