Openings for new lab members:
We do not anticipate funding for new postdocs in 2025, but may be in a position to recruit in 2026. All lab members apply for fellowships as part of their training. In general, prospective postdoctoral scholars who are interested in human cell cycle control, genome stability, or regulation of DNA replication origin licensing (cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology) can inquire about potential openings. Requirements are first-author or co-first author publication(s) in any area of molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, or biochemistry.
Candidates should contact Dr. Cook by email (jean_cook [AT] med.unc.edu ) and include a brief description of experience and interests along with a current CV and contact information for references (pdf file preferred).
There are openings for rotating first-year graduate students. Students seeking to join UNC graduate programs associated with the Cook lab apply exclusively through the BBSP program.
Undergraduates interested in research experience should email Dr. Cook directly to find out if there is room. Expectations are that students make a substantial time commitment so that progress on a research project is possible. Federal work-study eligible students are also welcome in positions of lab support or research participation - contact Jeff Jones (work-study) or Dr. Cook (research) by email.
