Archaeological reports from the project can viewed and/or downloaded here.
New interpretation panels, (and booklets) are now in place in Hume Village, Hume Castle grounds, and Hume Cemetery, and images of these new boards can be seen below. A circular walk accessing all of these new boards can be completed from Hume Village.
The centre piece of the exhibition, and one of the major outputs of the project, was the hand crafted Hume Castle (pictured below), completed by volunteers over several crafting sessions and providing different ways for people to engage with their heritage.
The project engaged with over 350 members of the public and provided training opportunities in historical research, digital illustration, archaeological excavation, historic building recording, graveyard survey, geophysical survey, monument identification and recording, and provided an opportunity for local volunteers to engage with heritage in new ways through craft.
A huge thank you to all of the people and volunteers who have taken part in the activities and dedicated their time to the Contextualising Hume Project:
