scct mp 3m2s details
Dear Chess Friends,
Just I'd like to inform you that,
The MP competition is restarted (due to crashes by some engines)
However, the previous results can be viewed from here: Standings
Some Notes,
This time, I set 4 cores per game, Ponder ON (for all participants)
The main target is to test the strongest Top 50 MP chess engines
Btw, I've similar MP rating list, but it' based on various machines
Plus, some of the previous MP chess engines were not so stable too...
Where the current games are played only on 2x E5-2686 2.00GHz
Engines with +55 % (in similarity) are not planning to be participated
Exceptions, only one of the strongest based engine will be allowed...
For example, Toga (based on Fruit), Critter (based on Rybka/Houdini)
And asmFish 071117 (based on Stockfish) are already participated...
New UCI engine releases should be capable to use Simtool, if not...
Then I am afraid that those engines are not planning to be tested...
As participants, only public (available) chess engines are allowed...
And once in 3 months will be tested... (in case of oftenly releases)
No any double game (there were a few ones, but they are replayed)
All participated engines are 64-bit (BMI2/POPCNT/Modern used)
Exception Hiarcs 14 WCSC engine (the only one, which is 32-bit)
The King 3.50 MP engine is used to play the settings of Aiglos II
The current overall draw percentage (based on 33590 games): 30%
All engines used the Balsa suite: choose randomly, switched colors
It seems (for overall chess engines) the new conditions are better...
More Details,
I've noticed bugs, crashes by several engines too, for examples:
So far, the overall lost games on time is lower than expected: 78
Tornado v8 is the leader in time forfeits (27 games lost on time)
Also Baron, Scorpio, Dirty, Hannibal etc a few times lost on time
Laser 1.4 engine is not capable to ponder (during opponent's turn)
Alfil 15.4 engine has time management problem (plays to quickly)
For example, the newer Alfil versions are + 55% similarity to SF
Meanwhile, the newer Naum versions are +55% similarity to Rybka
ChessBrainVB 3.50 uses 1CPU, as Wb2Uci oftenly doesn't terminate
Hannibal 1.7 (plus v1.5), also Demolito 260817 crashed many times
Plus Demolito 260817 engine is not capable to use Simtool, strange...
Sometimes (but not very often) NirvanaChess 2.4 engine crashes too
Also Prodeo 2.2 MP a few times crashed...with 1 core no any crash
The latest Prodeo 2.6 as MP did not wirk on my 2x E5-2686 machine
Gogobello 1.3 MP engine is not so stable too, crashed several times
I think, the above engines are tuned mainly for Ponder OFF + 1CPU
Actually as far as I know, 'Chess' is thinking in the opponent's turn...
However, I hope the mentioned ones will be fixed in the new releases
Note also that,
Almost all of the rest tested engines are stable under new conditions!
Of course (before starting the official rating),
I've run some new engine strength testings more and as usual:
To see the power, quality, strength... of the played new games
In short, my saying over this issue:
Testings are divided into two, 'MP + Ponder ON' and the others...!
And here are the new strength results:
