Tweez was post-hardcore to the instrumental/abstract extremes of post-rock, save for the parts that are almost identical to the crunchy post-hardcore of Steve Albini's bands (Big Black, Shellac, Rapeman).
An avid fan and friend of each member of the band, Lance Bangs would tour the US interviewing Slint, their sound engineers, producers, friends, and family to learn the full history of the group. Along with rare footage of the band rehearsing and performing live, this project would become the film Breadcrumb Trail, a conventional rockumentary that is nonetheless unassuming, insightful, and easy to sit through — but perhaps this is just because of the thick mystery behind the band and as a fan I find it exciting to finally get educated on their roots and origins.
