==========================
most of this info comes from the 2022 Field Ops Guide - 10/28/2022
Craig Interagency Dispatch (?CRC") is located in Craig Colorado at the BLM Fire Office at 455 Emerson St
Basically what we have here is a combined USFS / BLM / NPS / FWS wildfire service.
CRC dispatchs for USFS Medicine Bow Routt National Forest and Thunder Basin Natl Grasslands including Yampa Ranger District and Parks Ranger District and Hahn's Peak / Bears Ears Ranger District (all areas south of the Wyoming border)
plus BLM - Northwest District Fire and Aviation (Zone) encompassing Little Snake Field Office and White River Field Office and Kremmling Field Office
plus USFWS at Browns Peak NWR and Arapahoe NWR
plus Natl Park Service at Dinosaur Natl Monument
CRC also coordinates for Grand County ❖ Jackson County ❖ Moffat County ❖ Rio Blanco County ❖ Routt County ❖ Eagle County ❖ Larimer County ❖ Summit County ❖ Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control / state forestry
CRC is open for business 730 am to 6 pm daily during fire season (the summer) - possibly they are open 9 to 5 weekdays during the winter. (CRC can remain open overnight if fire units are working in the field overnight)
----------
CRC dispatches the following wildfire resources - [this is the baseline organization - it is supplemented by additional units from outside the area when wildfire danger is very high ish]
Craig - Squad 11 + Eng 1419 TY4 + E1446 TY4 + Craig Hotshots
Meeker - Eng 1613 TY4 + Eng 1642 TY4 + Eng 1444 TY4 + ?e9611?
Steamboat - Storm Peak Fire Module
Yampa - Silver Creek Fuels Module
Walden - Eng 617 TY6
Dinosaur - Eng 681 TY6 + Eng 683 TY6
BLM overhead / commanders - approx 12 fulltime staff divided between Craig Co and Meeker CO
USFS - 3 fulltime overhead employees at Steamboat Springs
CRC Dispatch Center has 4 or 5 fulltime staff and 2 seasonal staff - there are also 3 or 4 telecomms / it / GIS staff in the area
all of the engines apparently have crews of 2 people each - plus there are some chase trucks / SUVs that might carry extra staff for shift changes or supplies or fireline augmentation
not sure what the Squads and Modules use for transportation - might be small utility trucks
----------
Bottom line - Craig Dispatch acts as the unifying force behind all of the federal wildfire units in the area - initial attack dispatching is all based on the 'closest available unit' concept / policy which is essentially a 'border drop' between all of the federal wildfire agencies in the area - response levels for initial alarms vary as fire danger moves from Low to Moderate to High - response levels for initial attack range from 1 engine or 1 squad to 4 engines / 1 hand crew / 1 helo / 2 SEATs / 1 air attack / 1 MMA (?) (this is for Response Area 2.1 with interface issues) - "4 engines" means '4 fedral engines" we suspect
----------
Radio Channel Usage - any repeaters can be used by any agency - calls on Routt NF are only broadcast / toned on the Forest repeaters - all other calls are multicast across multi repeaters and channels and zones
