The Colin Yates Big band formed in 1977 at the Windmill Club in Rotherham, UK and is still thriving today. Join us for our next performance!
The band has performed a at vast number of concerts, dances, jazz festivals & corporate events throughout the UK. The bands repertoire is extensive and can recreate many musical styles including Glenn Miller, Count Basie & Stan Kenton.
The band's arrangements include scores from Ted Heath, Woody Herman and some modern day composers such as Rob McConnell, Tom Cubis and Bob Florence.
Some memorable concerts have been performed with many international artists including the late Kenny Baker and Don Lusher; saxophonists Tommy Whittle, Danny Moss, Pete King & American trumpet stars Bobby Shew, Buddy Childers and Harry "Sweets" Edison.
The band has also worked alongside vocalists such as Lee Gibson, Jennie Lamb and Lita Rosa.
The band has toured with the Main St, a band who recreate the sound of The Four Freshmen and a Frank Sinatra tribute artists.
