Tell us a bit about yourself:
When did you graduate from the COD Paralegal Studies Program?
I graduated May 2016.
Where are you currently working?
I work at the Law Offices of Ronald J. Hennings in St.Charles.

What was the most important lesson you learned from the Paralegal Studies Program?

I found advanced writing and research the most beneficial. We had timed writing exercises that model the real world when you have to fire off a quick letter and deliver a clear and concise message.
What advice would you give to current paralegal students?
I advise current students to take advantage of all the resources that are available. Get involved in the Paralegal Club. Meet with Stephanie Wilcox to improve your resume and interviewing skills. Talk to your instructors and get to know your fellow class mates to develop a network of contacts for employment prospects.
Tell us an interesting story or anecdote that adequately sums up your experience as a paralegal.
Learn to curb your enthusiasm when needed. I negotiate insurance settlements so I use time to my advantage to solidify the client's position for a better settlement.
Who or what inspired you to become a paralegal?
A few years ago, I took the Meyers-Briggs test and scored high on logic and ethics. Legal work seemed to be a natural fit.
