• Areas of Expertise/Coverage: Expertise in - Cardiac Stepdown, Cardiothoracic Critical Care, Cardiac Intensive Care. Nursing Education. Currently covering the Meduflex Team at MUSC which is a team of over 300 Care Team Members across 13 zones of healthcare at the downtown Charleston location. 

• Favorite food: Movie theater popcorn, Anything chocolate, and my parents' home cooking 

• Favorite part of being a NPD: Meeting new care team members, assisting in care team members reaching their goals, developing creative and innovative solutions for problem solving an educational or practice gap, developing presentations and presenting information to care team members, and my colleagues. 

• Working on any large initiatives/projects? Developing a Critical Care Academy for New Graduate RN in our ICU Float Team, developing a New Grad Mentorship program for all new graduates in our Float Team, Training a core group of our patient care technicians to work in Telemetry, assisting in all Pediatric Critical Care Zone RN's to be trained on Critical care Devices, advancing our Healthcare Associated Conditions Simulations with the Simulation Lab partnership, and streamlining PCT Phlebotomy training and competence.

Favorite part of being a NPD: There are so many things I love! Creative freedom, mentoring newer (and even mid-career) nurses, and having a job that pays me to learn!

Working on any large initiatives/projects? New position as NPDS for the Medical-Surgical service line (all 4 RSFH hospitals), so I am working to create consistency for orientation and resources across all units. I am also excited to be a podium presenter for the upcoming SCNA Convention, and poster presenter for the AMSN Convention and ANCC Magnet/Pathway Conference.

Favorite part of being a NPD: Talking to different people and learning about where they’re from, why they became a nurse, etc., and helping guide their way into their niche/career
