Welcome Parents and Students,
I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful summer filled with fun with friends and family, and I hope you have had the opportunity to play, explore, read, and go on some fantastic adventures. I always look forward to hearing your experiences and experiencing your personalities on the first days of school- And we have a pretty awesome way to get to know each other :)
It has been my pleasure teaching 4th and 5th grade students in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District for 21 years starting at Coles School in 1994 and moving to Park Middle School during the 5th grade reconfiguration which occurred about 10 years ago.
Some of my involvement in the district includes running technology training sessions for teachers, and serving as Superintendent's Committee Liasion, Grade Level Coordinator, Math Curriculum Committee member, Science Curriculum Committee member, and Technology Integration Leadership Team member.
I earned my Masters Degree in Ed Admin, BA degree in Political Science, a minor in Spanish and currently hold a K-8 Teaching Certificate, and a Middle School Math Certificate, as well as a Principal and Supervisor's Certification.
My education began in the SPF school district as a student at Brunner, Coles, Park Middle, and the SPF High School. As a kid, I lived on Kempshall Terrace in Fanwood where I learned how to throw a spiral with using a nerf football, and played some intense kickball at 'the circle' with the neighborhood kids. When I was 10 my family moved to Homestead Terrace, where I have many fond memories of manhunt in the woods, sledding down the Homestead hill on the ice with teams of kids, playing stickball, basketball and street hockey on the Brunner blacktop and negotiating all the sharp curves, turns and ramps of the Brunner walkways which surround the school on my skateboard.
I thoroughly enjoyed my childhood in town and my many years working with students in this fine district. working with students in the 4th and 5th grades here at SPF has been my great pleasure.
We had a great year last year and I'm looking forward to getting to know the students this year and starting another school year with my new class! WELCOME 5Th GRADERS
