Hearty Congratulations to Dr. Chrysanthus Andrew for defending his thesis. Surrealistic moments when your Co-Supervisor (or Boss!), Dr K A Venkatesan, IGCAR, Kalpakkam grills your student for an hour during the defense and awardee gets good appreciations !! It is special as Dr Andrew is first PhD awardee of our group.
Finally surmounted the PhD Degree !
My boss and my student in one frame !

In our third publication in Journal of Electrochemical Society this year, we report the electrochemical behaviour of samarium(III) and the electrodeposition of samarium in 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, ionic liquid. Congratulations to C Andrew.
This work started in 2018 as Andrew's first one. We did the experimental work and when about to draft a manuscript, someone published same work in J. Electrochemical Society. Subsequently, left the work for couple of years.
Last year in 2021 we reworked and communicated to JECS. Rejected with major comments.
We again reworked and submitted this June. Received minor comments. Revised and submitted to get accepted in same JECS journal.
Technically 4 years for one paper.
Very challenging for young researchers, whether you are the supervisor or the student. Today's research requires a tough combination of hard work, perseverance and patience, more than ever.
Bon Voyage and Best Wishes to Mr Chandran Murugesan who joined at Gachon University, S. Korea for his PhD programme
A small token of effort from Young Scientists Forum during the Felicitation to Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, on becoming DG, CSIR & Secretary, DSIR. As coordinator, along with Dr ST Nishanthi led the efforts.
Teams led by myself and Dr C. Jeyabharathi had a group dinner at Paradise Biryani, Karaikudi on 27 July 2022
Our team has made a video on Rare Earths, their significance, R&D activities at CECRI on Molten Salt Electrowinning of Rare Earths. This effort is part of CSIR JIGYASA Virtual Lab for Students.

Congrats to Team Molten Salt @ CECRI !
Mr Chrysanthus Andrew presented his Pre-synopsis Open Colloquium as mandated by AcSIR guidelines on 20 April 2022. His thesis title is 'Electrodeposition of Samarium from Ionic Liquids". More than 70 participants attended via online mode while AcSIR Office and Doctoral Advisory Members attended in Person.
Best Wishes Chrys !
Mr Chrysanthus Andrew won the 2nd prize in Oral Presentation during National Science Day 2022 event held at CSIR CECRI on the title "Low Temperature Electrodeposition of Samarium Using Ionic Liquid (OP-9). Congratulations Chrys !
Using choline chloride: urea, we report electrodeposition and electroless deposition of rhenium coatings from deep eutectic solvent for the first time. Congratulations to all authors. Keerthi Natarajan makes her first publication.
In this work, we report the electrochemical redox behavior of Sm(III) in three different electrolytes using DCA- based ionic liquid and different Sm(III) precursors. Based on non-identical Vibrational spectroscopy and voltammetry for different Sm(III) electrolytes, we propose a plausible mechanism for the dissolution and reduction of Sm(III) precursors in DCA based ionic liquid. Congratulations to Chrysanthus Andrew. Congratulations to Chandran Murugesan for his debut publication.
Our collaborative review article with Dr. V Murugan, EEC Division, published in Trends in Analytical Chemistry. Congratulations to P. Kanagavalli & Chrysanthus Andrew
Congratulations to Chrysanthus Andrew for his first publication in his doctoral work in the unsurmountable Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry. Cheers to Chrys' perseverance and patience. Congratulations to Dhivya Murugan for her maiden publication
Congratulations to Ms. Dhivya Murugan for securing 3rd prize in National Science Day Competitions 2021 @CECRI
Congratulations to V R Chithambara Thanu and Chrysanthus Andrew
As coordinator, along with Dr ST Nishanthi, initiated and organized interaction of CSIR CECRI Young Scientist Forum with Dr. Shekhar C. Mande, DG, CSIR & Secretary, DSIR (25 July 2019)
First independent paper of our group just published in prestigious Separation and Purification Technology.
Congratulations V R Chithambara Thanu.
Bon Voyage and Best Wishes to V R Chithambara Thanu who's joined RWTH Aachen University for his Master's
