Homework Policies
Applied homework exercises will be collected no earlier than one week after the last lecture. Due Date: Monday, February 15th (5pm)
Collaboration on homework is allowed and encouraged. Please write your own solutions/code and list the names of your collaborators (Stanford honor code).
Join the class Piazza forum to collaborate with fellow students!
Extra credit for active participation: any student who posts an "instructor-endorsed" response to a question on Piazza will receive extra credit (equivalent to full-credit for one "applied" homework problem, maximum one per student).
Students may use any programming language to complete the applied exercises.
We suggest using R, because the "Lab" sections of the textbook work through examples in R. Matlab and Python are also popular choices.
How to submit (for Applied Exercises)
Hard copy of homework should be submitted to the CME 250 drop box in the basement of the Huang Engineering Center (map) (box location) by 5pm on the date due.
Make sure all exercise solutions are clearly labeled (section/exercise number from ISL book) and organized.
Include a print-out of your code.
Please include a clear and identifiable heading on their homework submission that includes your name, SUNetID, a list of exercises included in the submission, and names of any collaborators, e.g.:
Jane Smith
SUNetID: jsmith
Exercises submitted: 3.7 #9; 10.7 #10; 8.4 #9; 9.7 #4
