  Research Institute for Sustainable Civilization (持続可能な文明研究所, RISC) is an organization established since Apr. 2015. The RISC aims at proposing science-based policies in aid of the development of sustainable society at local, regional and international levels, considering both humane and natural environmental systems from a long-term historical perspective. Recent focuses are issues on facilitating the civilization processes on the basis of system engineering approaches.
