about talk
Why the Need for Action on Climate Change Is Urgent. After presenting the evidence that Earth’s temperature depends on the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, Dr. Grady contrasts the amount of fossil fuel owned by companies and countries with the amount that can be burned without catastrophic climate change. He then discusses the implications of that difference to the economy and the environment.
Perspectives on Climate Change: Scientific, Economic, and Moral. After giving a computational scientist’s “insider” perspective on the climate problem, Dr. Pruett will briefly discuss why green technologies make good economic sense and why communities of faith are starting to rally around climate initiatives.
Climate Change: How We Transition to a Sustainable Economy. It is one offering of the Climate Reality Project and focuses on the need to move away from fossil fuels and toward a more sustainable energy economy.
