Club History

The Cleveland Cricket Club (CCC) is committed to fostering, improving and promoting the game of cricket in the State of Ohio.

The Club was formed in March 1993. The opening ceremony at the Cuyahoga County Airport field - that is home to the CCC - was held in early May of the same year with dignitaries from City of Richmond Heights including its Mayor - the Honorable Daniel Ursu and various Council members, and management of the Cuyahoga County Airport in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The ideally located field, fondly referred to as our Lord's, was been made possible through tremendous cooperation between CCC, the Cuyahoga County and its representatives and the City of Richmond Heights.

The team and its members have been successful in their approach of balancing various individual needs and at the same time have the team remain extremely competitive as its history in the Midwest Tournament indicates. The team has made several playoff appearances through the years and won the coveted Midwest trophy in 1998 under the captaincy of Rakesh Srivastava and then back to back Championships in the Michigan League in 2009 and 2010 under the captaincy of Ani Khandekar and Vignesh Palanivel, respectively.

Our latest and greatest achievement was in year 2021 when we clean sweep MCT tournament winning both the prestigious Midwest Cricket Tournament Division 1 which is of 35 overs and MCT Titan Cup T20. We have been one of the most successful clubs in Cleveland winning major tournaments for many years.

The Club remains open for membership to dedicated individuals from any part of the world and we have had at various times, players from all test playing nations (except Zimbabwe which unfortunately has remained elusive to our Club) honor its membership rolls.

The Club has experienced tremendous growth in its membership for the last couple years and as a result we are currently fielding two competitive teams
