I am presently working in the area of investigating the corrosion behavior of various structural materials in high-temperature molten salt (LiCl-KCl) medium by immersion, electrochemical and thermogravimetric studies. I am also involved in the development of ceramic coatings on structural materials for corrosion protection using Atmospheric Plasma Spray (Thermal Spray) Process and evaluating the performance and durability of these coatings for high-temperature molten salt and molten metal applications. I have established the Atmospheric Plasma Spray and High-Velocity Oxy-Fuel (APS-HVOF) spray facilities for developing corrosion-resistant ceramic coatings on structural materials for reprocessing applications and has a hand on experience on the thermal spray coatings for the last four years. I am also studying the corrosion behavior as well as air and steam oxidation behavior of structural materials using thermal analysis (TG-DTA).
