Short bio

Prof. Christian Kroll, PhD, is a full professor, advisor, and board member specializing in sustainability and management strategy. He consults globally for companies, governments, and civil society organizations, including as an advisor to Bain & Company.  He is a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics, where he also earned his PhD. He also directs the Sustainable Management program and lectures on sustainable finance, ESG, the circular economy, and corporate social responsibility as full Professor at IU International University of Applied Sciences, Germany’s largest.

Prof. Kroll has published books and scientific articles with leading academic publishers, including Cambridge University Press. He is the inventor of the first measurement tool for the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the founding Scientific Director of the SDG Index & Dashboards. His work, which includes a foreword by Kofi Annan, has been featured by global media such as CNN, BBC World News, Harvard Business Review, The Washington Post, Le Monde, Die Zeit, ARD, and Spiegel Online.

Prof. Kroll regularly speaks at major international conferences including WEF Davos, SuperReturn International (the world’s largest private equity event), and Web Summit Lisbon (the world’s largest tech conference), as well as at corporate events. In recognition of his contributions, the World Economic Forum honored him as a Young Global Leader.
