I qualified as a Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage Practitioner in 2012, a career move which was inspired after suffering a serious ankle injury. The rehabilitation process triggered my fascination with how touch can help change soft tissues and promote healing. I enjoy working with clients of all ages as it ensures my work is varied, and encourages me to always be learning. I am particularly interested in the biopsychosocial framework when treating clients.
I have been in practice for over 30 years. Originally training in healing and massage, I qualified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in 1998, and divide my time between practice and teaching. I run a Chinese herbal medicine apprenticeship, and our teaching clinic in Cholsey offers treatment at cost. Originally a professional violinist, I work with many musicians, and incorporate sounding, breathwork and authentic voice into my practice.
I graduated from the College of Traditional
Acupuncture in 1988, and worked with Dr. Worsley on his two main textbooks. I have had a practice in Windsor for over 35 years, and as the Secretary of the British Acupuncture Council was heavily involved in the development of the UK acupuncture profession.
As well as practising acupuncture I am also involved with local charities like Cholsey Volunteers, which I helped to found, the Day Centre and the Pavilion Trust which I Chair.
I have been practicing Acupuncture for 20 years, in Reading and in Cholsey. I strongly believe that acupuncture can help to improve one’s health and well-being in almost any circumstance. I trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and continue to work at the college as a supervisor in the student clinic. I also use other techniques such as Tui Na massage, cupping, moxa and lifestyle advice.
I trained at the City College of Acupuncture in London. I originally trained as a musician and have worked freelance as an orchestral player for 20 years. A very helpful course of acupuncture treatment in 2014-15 inspired me to become an acupuncturist myself, and I value its ability to help people on both a physical and mental-emotional level.
I qualified with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy but after nearly 10 years working within the NHS went on to retrain in Reiki Energy Healing and Auricular Acupuncture using the gentle NADA protocol that uses five specific points to support relaxation, emotional balance, and recovery from stress, trauma and anxiety. I have also recently added Access Bars and Rahanni Energy Healing to my range of treatments.
