Welcome to Ching-Hsing Wang's (王靖興) Homepage

I am an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). Prior to joining the NCKU in 2019, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston. I received my B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from National Chengchi University in Taiwan and my M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Houston in the United States. 

My fields are comparative politics, American politics, and research methods. Specifically, my research interests focus on political behavior, public opinion, political psychology, political institutions, and Asian politics. I have published articles in prominent academic journals, including Democratization, Electoral Studies, Globalization and Health, International Political Science Review, Japanese Journal of Political Science, Journal of Asian and African Studies, Journal of Electoral Studies, Party Politics, Political Science, Political Studies Review, Social Science Quarterly, The Social Science Journal, and Taiwanese Political Science Review, among others. I have also written a number of technical reports for regional public and private sector entities.


My research has received funding from the National Science and Technology Council and the Yushan Young Fellow Program, Ministry of Education, Taiwan. Since 2021, I have been a collaborating investigator for Taiwan’s Election and Democratization Study. I also serve as an associate editor for The Social Science Journal and an academic editor for PLOS ONE.
