You will analyze information you research using the Resources section of this WebQuest. Your team has several tasks listed below where you will create projects to inform and educate visitors about culture and nation building.
Part I: Culture
Culture Exhibit: Your team will design an online exhibit that communicates the meaning of the term “culture”. You will use China to model what culture looks like.
Part II: Nation Building
A) China Nation Building: The team will research how China became a nation. You will look for conditions and patterns that led to China being unified. Use your research to create an online exhibit displaying how China became a nation.
B) Nation Building: Each member of your team will then draw the name of one nation from the list of nations listed below to research how his/her chosen country became a nation. Your team will then meet to share their findings with each other.
C) Patterns in Nation Building: The next step is to look for common conditions and patterns in the creation of the nations you researched. You will work together to produce a multimedia presentation for the curators of the World Nations Museum demonstrating the need to create another online exhibit that teaches about the different ways nations are formed.
Your purpose will be to share how nations have been created under varying conditions. You will look for common patterns to create categories of the ways the nations were formed. Your presentation will start by explaining the process and reasons why nations are formed. The next step will be to present specific groups of nations that were created in similar fashion.
