I am Associate Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at Politecnico di Milano (Italy).

I am Associate Editor of Science and Engineering Ethics (Springer) and a member of the Advisory Boards of The Journal of Medicine & Philosophy (Oxford University Press) and of the Springer book series Studies in Applied Philosophy, Epistemology and Rational Ethics (SAPERE).
At Politecnico di Milano I am a member of the Research Ethics Committee and of the HRS4R Steering Committee, which provides strategic guidance for the University's implementation of the European Charter for Researchers.
I am the author of Philosophy of Risk (with M. Andreoletti, Cambridge University Press, forthcoming), Uncertainty, Innovation and the City: Philosophical Explorations (with S. Moroni, Edward Elgar, 2025), and Clinical Reasoning: Knowledge, Uncertainty and Values in Health Care (Springer, 2021). I have also edited Fragility and Antifragility in Cities and Regions (with F. Curci, Edward Elgar, 2024) and Risk and Resilience: Socio-Spatial and Environmental Challenges (with A. Balducci and F. Curci, Springer, 2020).
I work at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU) and at META-Polimi – Social Sciences and Humanities for Science and Technology. I conducted and supervised interdisciplinary research on the epistemology and ethics of natural risks within the PNRR project RETURN – Multi-Risk Science for Resilient Communities Under a Changing Climate.
I have guest-edited special issues for Perspectives on Science (MIT Press), Journal of Applied Logic, Topoi, Logique et Analyse, Journal of Applied Logics – IfCoLoG, and Transactions of the Charles S. Peirce Society, and I am currently guest-editing, with M. Ongaro, G. Zanotti and P. Janda, the Synthese topical collection Philosophy of Risk: Beliefs, Values, and Decisions.
