Call for Abstracts Announcement
We are delighted to announce that the 2024 Chicago Plant Science Symposium is hosting a poster session for the first time! The call for poster abstracts is now open!
Our meeting theme is Across Time and Terrain: Plant Interactions and Evolution. Our primary meeting goal is to exhibit the work of researchers from the Midwestern region, recognize the importance of research in ecology and evolution, and socially facilitate connections.
We invite abstracts for poster presentations directly related to the meeting theme. The deadline for submission of abstracts for contributed posters is March 15th, 2024.
Thanks for your interest in presenting a poster!

Poster Guidelines
Posters should adhere to the dimensions of 40 inches in width and 36 inches in height to ensure optimal visibility and readability.
The poster session will take place from 2:45-3:45 PM on the day of the symposium (April 20th, 2024).
Please bring just your poster; we will provide easels and binder clips to display the poster.
Recommendations:
Please use a font that is easy to read from a distance.
Organize your poster so it is easy for viewers to follow. Start with an introduction, then move on to methods, results, and a conclusion.
Use graphs, charts, and images to help illustrate key findings and engage viewers.
Maintain a balance between text/figures and white space, leaving some white space to make it easier to read and more visually appealing.
Choose a color scheme that is visually appealing and use colorblind-friendly colors to increase accessibility (please see this short guide on colorblind safe color schemes).
Proofread your poster carefully for spelling and grammar.
Be ready to talk about your research with viewers who stop by. Have a short summary in mind to explain your work.
