BIND Lab

Laboratory of Brain Imaging and Neural Dynamics

腦造影與神經動態研究室

The Laboratory of Brain Imaging and Neural Dynamics (BIND Lab) in Department of Occupational Therapy and Graduate Institute of Behavioral Sciences, Chang Gung University, Taiwan (Since Sep. 2014), aims at investigating brain functioning by using behavioral tasks and non-invasive brain imaging modalities, e.g., MEG, EEG and MRI, combined with state-of-the-art signal analysis methods. The present goal in our lab is applying electrophysiological signals to elucidate the effects of aging and neurodegeneration on the function of auditory sensory memory, change detection, and inhibition control to external stimuli. As a key member of Healthy Aging Research Center (HARC) in Chang Gung University, we also devote to forming a link between neurobiology of aging and  behavioral / cognitive performance in the older adults. In the near future, our research angles will extend to other neurodevelopment, psychiatric and neurological disorders; and try to identify neuroimaging markers that potentially serve as prognosis / follow-up indicators of these diseases as well as the rehabilitation benefits from therapeutic approaches or intervention. We welcome bright undergraduate and graduate students who are passionate about brain/cognitive sciences and its relation to rehabilitation to join us!

We also welcome international undergraduate/graduate students to join us for a short-term visit or a long-term professional training (e.g., master program).

  • Be a participant  BIND Lab continues to enroll healthy young (20 to 35 years old) older (above 60 years old) adults to participate in our research projects. We mainly use non-invasive functional neuroimaging and behavioral approaches to study perceptual and cognitive processing in the working human brain. If you are willing to being a subject, please feel free to contact us for more information!! (ch.cheng@mail.cgu.edu.tw)
