Biography

Dr. Cherif Ghazel received his Specialized Engineering Master's and Research Master’s Degrees in Telecommunication from The High School of Telecommunications Engineering (SupCom) at the University of Carthage, Tunisia. He obtained his PhD and HDR degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from the National School of Computer Sciences (ENSI) at the University of Manouba, Tunisia. For five years, he served as an Associate Professor at the High Institute of Computer Sciences of El Kef (ISIK) and as a Council Committee Member at the University of Jandouba and the Virtual University of Tunis (UVT). During this period, he spent three years as the Director of the Department of Virtual Education at the University of Jendouba. In this role, he coordinated and supervised the implementation of virtual education and training strategies in collaboration with the Virtual University of Tunis (UVT). Currently, Dr. Ghazel is an Associate Professor at the High School of Digital Economy (ESEN) at the University of Manouba. Additionally, he is an active member of the CRISTAL Research Laboratory at the ENSI in Tunisia.

Dr. Ghazel also worked for sixteen years, as the director of the computer sciences and audio-visuals department at the Public Administration. His duties involved supervising and managing several information technologies and telecommunications projects, such as: Web, ELearning, Networking, Geographical Information System (GIS), Information Systems (SI) and others. He also taught several professional training and technical skills development and upgrading courses for the Ministry technical staff as well as visiting foreign teachers as part of an international cooperation and technical development programs between Tunisia and several Middle-Eastern governmental agencies.

Dr. Ghazel has collaborated on several international projects and he has been involved in many research projects, which focused on computer sciences applications, networking and communications systems. His research interests include: Next Generation Networks (NGN), Network Architectures, Access and Core Protocols, Networks dimensioning, Cloud Computing (CC), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), Voice Over IP (VoIP), Admission Control (CAC), Resource Control and Management, Network security and Quality of Service (QoS).

Dr. Ghazel is the author or co-author of several scientific research papers published in refereed journals and international conferences. He served as the Technical Co-chair and participated in Technical Review Committees of several international conferences and workshops. He also served as a reviewer for several international journals and conferences.

Dr. Ghazel’s teaching and technical expertise include fixed, mobile and wireless telecommunication and computer sciences Networks. He also participated in the habilitation of masters and licenses programs involving telecommunication and computer sciences networking and security.

Finally, Dr. Ghazel has several technical Certifications in multiple domains, such as Linux, Information System (SI), Geographical Information System (GIS), Geomantic, Geo-referential Databases, CISCO CCNA1&2, CISCO CyberOps, Cyber and Infrastructure Security, etc.
