Dr. Chi Chen is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources in the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

Chi received his B. Eng. degree in Remote Sensing Science and Technology at Wuhan University in 2013; his Master's in Environmental Remote Sensing and GIS in 2015 and his Ph.D. in Earth and Environment in 2020 from Boston University.

Before joining Rutgers, Chi was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory during 2020–2022. Chi was also affiliated with the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at the University of California, Berkeley.
