Counselling and Psychotherapy

Supervision

I trained in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Birkbeck, University of London. I am also a qualified supervisor. I established my private practice in 2013.

What does psychodynamic mean? It means I will be thinking with you about how you relate to the significant people in your life; but I will also be thinking about your unconscious thinking, and how you relate to yourself as well as others. In addition, I will take into account important relationships in your past, and how these may unconsciously be influencing your present feelings and behaviour.

I am always focussing on my therapeutic relationship with you, and I don't tend to remain silent for very long periods. I believe that it is the quality of our therapeutic alliance, and the ability to think about issues together, that can bring about encouraging feelings of development and change.

Qualifications:

  • Masters in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy.

  • Short course in Couples Therapy at the Tavistock Clinic.

  • Supervisor qualification (Westminster Pastoral Foundation)

  • Fully Accredited member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, working within the BACP ethical framework for good practice.

You are very welcome to contact me with any anxieties you may be facing, and we can think about what may be the best way forward for you.
