Scoring Points when there is a Player No Show (Summer Golf League):
When a player does not show for play, special scoring rules are used.
You will be playing the course and you will play a quota points system. In this system you will be required to get a quota of points based on 100% of your 9 hole course handicap. You quota is calculated simply by taking 18 - (9 hole course handicap) with a floor of 4 points. An example would be a 5 handicap would have to get 18 - 5 = 13 points or a 15 handicap would have to get 18 - 15 = 3 points, but since there is a floor of 4 points they are required to get 4 points.
You acquire points according to the following schedule:
All scores are gross!
Double Eagle - 5 points
Eagle - 4 points
Birdie - 3 points
Par - 2 points
Bogey - 1 point
Double Bogey+ - 0 points
Your part of the Team Points would then be calculated in the following manner: Take the 5 handicap player I listed above, they are required to get 13 points. Let’s say they get 15 points. Their delta is 15 - 13 = +2. They would then take that delta and add that to a base of 11 points. Their part of the team score is 11 + 2 = 13 points. Another example would be the same 5 handicap has a quota of 13 points but they only get 10 points. Their delta is 10 - 13 = -3. They would then have the base of 11 points + (-3) or 8 points. Their part of the team score is 8 points in this instance.
18 - (100% of 9 hole Handicap) = (Required Points Needed). Points Scored - (Required Points Needed) + 11 = Team Points earned for the Match
