The Draft lottery will be based on GAME 1 of the STANLEY CUP FINALS!!!!

To determine positions 1 - 6, we will use the same lottery style every year based on your season standings and odds to win. The following shows the teams who are able to get the first overall pick and odds of winning 1st overall: (These do not include changes if teams have traded their first round pick. So if you own PHI's first pick you have a 29% chance at being the first overall selection)

NYI - 29%
UTH - 24%
DAL - 19%
BOS - 14%
COL - 10%
NYR - 4%

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS

The draw will take place based on the time of the goals scored in Game 1 of the 2025 NHL STANLEY CUP FINALS and then Game 2 (if need be). It is the time of the goal in that game (not how much time left in the period) that determines the draft order. We are looking at the seconds of the goals only so the minute of the goal is disregarded. Goals in the first minute of each period do not count. The First goal of the game decides the first overall pick, second goal the second overall pick and so on.

If a goal was scored between 01-17 seconds of any minute then the NYI get the first pick
If a goal was scored between 18-31 seconds of any minute then the UTH get the first pick
If a goal was scored between 32-42 seconds of any minute then the DAL get the first pick
If a goal was scored between 43-51 seconds of any minute then the BOS get the first pick
If a goal was scored between 52-57 seconds of any minute then the COL get the first pick
If a goal was scored between 58-60 seconds of any minute then the NYR get the first pick

If a goal is scored in the first minute of any period it will be voided because it puts the first team into a disadvantage because we know a player can't possibly score in the first couple of seconds of a period from center ice.

After the first overall pick is decided the procedure continues until the entire draft order is determined.

First goal scored at 1:06 - which means NYI wins the first overall pick!

Second goal scored at 10:49 - which means BOS wins the second overall pick!

Third goal scored at 12:30 - which means UTH wins the third overall pick!

Fourth goal scored at 2:00 - which means NYR wins the fourth overall pick!

Fifth goal scored at 3:17 - skipped since its within NYI time range

Sixth goal scored at 6:33 - which means DAL wins the fifth overall pick!

This leaves COL with the sixth overall pick!
