The following modifications were provided to students based on their IEP requirements. These modifications allowed all students to access the content we were covering and produce a final product which met the guidelines of the project.
Open- Cornell notes with questions provided, only focus on one question and share with group (jig-saw)
Immerse - read through article together, notations made as a class (verbally and on the board)
Explore - number of people needed to explore, various types of resources (text/articles/videos/multi-media/etc.)
Identify - provided big question (fill-in-the-blank), provided smaller question examples on graphic organizer
Gather - audio on computer to hear text read, labeled note-taking guide to match questions from "Identify" graphic organizer
Create - provided options/choices of products (visual & verbal), provided award template and speech template
Share - teachers assisted with props, set-up, etc.
Evaluate - read evaluation for reading accommodation and further explanation
