A Typical Appointment
When it is time for your appointment, head to room 104 (Mrs. Eubanks's room).
A secretary will greet you and introduce you to your appointed tutor.
You will either pull up your assignment on your laptop, read it out loud if its handwritten, or share it with your tutor through school emails.
Your tutor will ask you what you want to work on and when it due.
The tutor may want to look on your assignment sheet or rubric.
The tutor will ask you to read your assignment aloud, or if you don't feel comfortable they may read it for you. The tutor may take notes while you read through the paper.
You and your tutor will talk through your paper and, together, try to come up solutions with any issues you are having.
As the session draws to a close, the tutor will ask you if you have any other questions and may offer a paper copy of the notes they wrote.
That's it! We hope you come back and see us!
*Not every appointment will be exactly like this. We also do long-term tutoring where we can focus on your goals on a daily or weekly basis.
*If you are working on speeches or presentations, you can come in and you can practice presenting with a writing assistant (or a full audience, if you like!) and receive feedback.
*You may come several times for the same piece of writing, so the process may change to fit the needs of that appointment.
*We also accept walk-in appointments! Or if you are having trouble making an appointment, stop by and a secretary would be happy to make an appointment for you!
