House History
DiGenni's Centennial Guesthouse was built in 1895 as a summer vacation house for a wealthy Philadelphia businessman to enjoy the beach with his extended family. Always filled with happy families and good times, the house was even a speakeasy (place to buy illegal alcohol) during prohibition. In 1980, John and Madge DiGenni moved into 127 39th street, only 1/2 a block from where they first met and fell in love fifteen years earlier. They named it the Centennial Guesthouse in honor of the approaching 100th Birthday of Sea Isle in 1982. Fast forward to 2019 and there have been many changes, but the DiGenni Family is still offering a clean, comfortable and above all - affordable choice for vacationers to stay in "The sea and sand family vacation land", that is Sea Isle City.
