BeammWave Lund, Sweden

Algorithm Expert

Developing and conducting research on physical layer algorithms, including and mainly beamforming and channel estimation, for 5G (and beyond) wireless networks. Collaborating closely with the SoC development team for the implementation of the proposed architectures on Xilinx boards.

Lund University Lund, Sweden

Researcher at ICARUS

Conducting research on machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for the expedition project entitled intelligent cell-free access for wireless ubiquitous services (ICARUS) funded by Wallenberg AI, autonomous systems and software program (WASP).

  • Proposed joint analog beam selection and digital beamforming solutions in millimeter-wave cell-free massive MIMO systems. Exploited ML algorithms including support vector machine, multi-layer perceptron, and random forest.

  • Proposed sparse channel estimation in millimeter-wave channels by expectation maximization based sparse Bayesian learning via vector approximate message passing aka belief propagation in graphical models, i.e., probabilistic ML approaches.

  • Proposed joint user / access point selection and beamforming in cell-free networks by sparse group LASSO solution.

  • Proposed a new iterative thresholding algorithm, NCISTA plus FCSA, for MR image reconstruction.

Academia Sinica Taipei, Taiwan

Research Fellow and Instructor at Research Center for Information Technology Innovation

Conducting research on resource allocation in MIMO relay networks. Course instructor of the Ph.D. course Probability and Statistics for 3 semesters.

  • Proposed distributed beamforming solutions in wireless relay networks by utilizing alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM), i.e., deterministic ML approach.
