Who are the Mennonites?

When you hear Mennonites do you think about buggies, furniture and beards? Well, our new pastor does have a beard, but we drive cars, use electricity and worship God who desires peace on earth.

Mennonites are part of the Anabaptist branch of the Christian family tree. Ana-Baptist means baptised again. Our name comes from our belief in adult baptism. There are many things that make Anabaptists a little different from many of our Christian cousins: we are committed to Peace in our lives and in the world, we are non-creedal, we believe in the priesthood of all believers, and we seek to live our lives after the example of Jesus. And yes - Amish are Anabaptists also.
