Children aged 12-17 years old are permitted to swim without an adult during lifeguarded hours as long as they have a current signed Parent Permission form on file.
A new form must be completed each new pool season. The form is not complete until the child has also passed the swim test.
To obtain a current form:
1. Click Here to Download Parent Permission form. Print a copy of form. Parent/guardian must fill it out and sign it.
2. The parent/guardian needs to take the teen to the pool for a swim test and turn in completed form to lifeguard.
***Swim tests will be administered on weekends when there are two lifeguards on duty or during a lifeguard break. Lifeguards take a break the last ten minutes of every hour.***
Swim test:
Child will need to jump into the deep end of the pool and swim to the other side and back without stopping or touching the bottom of the pool. They will also need to be able to tread water for 1 full minute.
Lifeguard hours are daily from 12:00-Close (once CCSD school year is over)
If a lifeguard is not on duty during these hours, communication will be sent via email and the pool's Facebook page.
Teens are not permitted to come to the pool without an adult if a lifeguard is not present. Teens MUST present their swim card to life guard if swimming without an adult.
