Job Hunt Series
Students are strongly advised to take the Job Hunt Series in order beginning with session 1.
Job Hunt Session 1: Proactive vs. Reactive* (1.5 hours)
Students within 6 to 12 months of graduation will learn how to organize a proactive, self-directed search and strategize a specific path to success.
Job Hunt Session 2: Mastering Networking* (1.5 hours)
Students 6 to 12 months of graduation will learn how to establish and maintain professional relationships in their industry, along with the best practices of networking.
*Attendance to sessions 1 AND 2 are required to gain access to the online alumni database, The Newhouse Network.
Résumé and cover letter
Résumé and Cover Letter Writing (1 hour)
Students will learn how to create a ONE PAGE, relevant résumé geared toward their target audience and how to write a strong cover letter.
Finding an Internship
Finding an Internship (1 hour)
Students will learn how to conduct a proactive internship search, plus discover resources both on and off campus.
International Student Success
The Center for International Services (CIS), has provided our office with some information that may be useful to international students while navigating the nuances of the job and internship market in the U.S.

To get the most out of an appointment, seniors and grad students are encouraged to attend the Job Hunt Series Sessions 1 and 2 prior to scheduling an appointment.
Every Wednesday and Friday from 12:00-1:00 PM
Drop-ins will be held ONLINE every Wednesday and Friday from 12-1 p.m. Students may drop in during that time with quick questions. Students will be emailed the drop-in link every Wednesday and Friday morning through our listserv (CDCNews, CDCGradNews). The link will change for each drop-in hour.

Students have the option to email their materials to firstname.lastname@example.org to be reviewed by a CDC counselor. The typical turnaround time is between 2 to 3 business days.

2020 Virtual Business & Communications Career Fair
Tuesday, September 29 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM
We are excited to announce that the Martin J. Whitman School of Management and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications will be partnering to connect students to employers through a combined 2020 Virtual Business and Communications Fall Career Fair. The Business and Communications Career Fair will allow you to engage with amazing employers from business, communications, and marketing at the same time!
· Access to an extensive list of participating companies that are specifically seeking students interested in areas of business, marketing and communications;
· An increased number of communications and business opportunities for students due to employers being able to participate virtually;
· Opportunity to virtually interview with employers of interest.
All years and majors are welcome to attend!
