Job Hunt Series

Students are strongly advised to take the Job Hunt Series in order beginning with session 1.

Job Hunt Session 1: Proactive vs. Reactive* (1.5 hours)

Attendance to sessions 1 AND 2 are required to gain access to the online alumni database, The Newhouse Network.

Job Hunt Session 2: Mastering Networking* (1.5 hours)

Attendance to sessions 1 AND 2 are required to gain access to the online alumni database, The Newhouse Network.

Job Hunt Session 3: Career Lab (2 hours)

Work on your job search at this career "study hall" with the support of CDC staff.

Session 3 is optional but students who attend four Career Labs will receive a really nice piece of Newhouse Swag.

Quick Counsel

Every Friday 12:00-1:00 PM Room 313 Newhouse 3

A CDC counselor will be in the CDC (313 N3) to answer QUICK questions about resumes, cover letters, your internship/job search, networking or anything career-related!

What is the Dropbox?

Students have the option to drop off a hard copy of their materials to be reviewed by a CDC counselor. The typical turnaround time is between 2 to 3 business days.

Career Fair

Thursday, April 11 4:00-7:00 PM Panasci Lounge, Schine Student Center

More than 30 national companies will come to SU to meet and interview students for anticipated job openings and internship opportunities. Some companies may look for interns for summer '19 and even summer '20. Students may view job and internship descriptions on Handshake at bit.ly/nrchandshake now through late March. All students can mingle among recruiter tables, introduce themselves, pick-up information and secure interviews for the following day. Stay tuned to CDCNews/CDCGradNews for more details. All years and majors should attend.

Companies select which students they would like to interview at the Newhouse Recruitment Collective Career Fair on Thursday, April 11. Students may view the job and internship descriptions prior to the career fair on Handshake at bit.ly/nrchandshake. All interviews take place at the Schine Student Center.
