Adult Recognition

Adult religious awards recognize adults for their outstanding contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic youth in Scouting. Adults do not earn religious awards, but are nominated based on their work helping Scouts earn Catholic religious awards, their efforts for Catholic Scouts and Catholic Scouting, and their support for the diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting.

Each year, the diocese recognizes adults who work with a group of Scouts to earn a Catholic award with Duty to God, Light of the World, or Radiant Cross.

The diocese recognizes adults who dedicate years to working with Catholic Scouts with:

  • Bronze Pelican award: working with either girls or boys for several years

  • St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award: working with girls in a Scouting organization for girls several years

  • St. Anne Medal: working with girls in a Scouting organization for girls for many years

  • St. George Emblem: working with youth in BSA or a boys’ scouting organization for many years

Nominees can be any adult working with Catholic Scouts and the Catholic Committee on Scouting. Recipients should be exemplary and have the support of their pastor.

Adult awards are presented annually during the Catholic Committee on Scouting Recognition Mass.

To nominate a deserving adult, contact the Catholic Committee on Scouting. Completed nomination forms are required for each nominee.
