About the Book Studies

The Center for Collaborative Support  is pleased to be able to offer several opportunities for teachers in the member districts to learn more about timely educational topics, such as the Common Core State Standards, formative assessment, etc. in a series of online, collaborative book studies.

The book studies are 8 weeks long and are facilitated by TOSAs and teachers from the member districts. Teachers are placed in small (about 15 teachers) cohorts made up of teachers from all five districts. Over the 8 weeks you'll learn alongside and connect with teachers in your cohort using a simple online tool. (Note: each cohort has either an elementary or secondary focus.)

"I love these classes. I get so many really good ideas and my students love the results. I always tell them that I'm taking a class and what I'm learning and how I'm using them as my practice lab." Karen Waters, SVSD

About the Center for Collaborative Support

The Center for Collaborative Support (CCS) was formed in 2001 as a joint venture and includes five school districts: Issaquah, Mercer Island, Riverview, Snoqualmie Valley, and Tahoma. The mission of CCS is to provide a great teacher for every child, and the districts in the CCS are committed to making the instructional changes necessary to increase student achievement. The districts know that what matters most is what happens between teachers and students in classrooms. Read more . . .
