Sheets
Sheet 1:
• Setup sheet on Drawing Board
• Draw 10mm margin around the edge with a set-square
• Put draw lines for the TITLE BLOCK 10mm, 5mm, 10mm from the bottom of the sheet with the T-square
• Fill in your name, SHEET 1: LINES and the date
• Measure vertically 130mm and draw a horizontal line with the T-square
• Measure 400mm horizontally and draw a vertical line with a Set-square. You now should have 4 boxes
• Mark 10mm increments, vertically, on the side of the first box, with the Set-square
• Draw a series of horizontal lines, starting light and then getting heavier with the T-square
• In the second box, mark 10mm increments, horizontally along the bottom
• Draw a series of vertical lines, starting light and then getting heavier with the Set-square
• In the third box, draw a light construction line a 45 degrees from a corner with the 45 degree Set-square, mark 10mm increments along this line
• Using your Set Square draw slightly heavier lines perpendicular to this light line
• Using the 30/60 set square draw a light construction line at 30 degrees from a corner, mark 10mm increments along this line
• Draw heavy lines perpendicular to this line through these marks with your 30/60 degree Set-Square
Sheet 2 (Speedo and Pizza Hut logos: UTG, page 5)
• Line out the sheet with the 10mm margin and title block at the bottom
• Fill in your name, SHEET 2: LOGOS 1 and the date
• Measure 30mm vertically and draw a light construction line across the page (This is your base line)
• Measure 100 mm horizontally and draw a light construction line vertically
• Measure another 200mm horizontally along the base line and draw a light construction line vertically
• Along the base line, mark increments at 20mm apart
• Draw light vertical construction lines through these points
• On the vertical line, (from where it meets the light horizontal line) mark off 10mm increments
• Draw light horizontal construction lines through these points
• Looking at page 5 of your textbook, Join the points to produce the Speedo logo
• From the bottom of the Speedo diagram, measure 10mm vertically down and draw a light horizontal guideline, measure a further 5mm and draw another light horizontal guideline.
• Write SPEEDO between these guidelines
• From the top of the Speedo logo, measure vertically 40mm and draw a horizontal line
• Measure 7 further increments of 10mm
• Looking at page 5 of your textbook, join the points with light construction lines to produce the Pizza Hut logo
• Check your lines against page 5 of your textbook, if they are correct draw THICK lines over your light lines
• From the bottom of the Pizza Hut diagram, measure Xmm vertically down and draw a light horizontal guideline, measure a further 5mm and draw another light horizontal
• Write in PIZZA HUT
Sheet 3 (House Gaurantee and star logos, UTG, page 6)
• Line out the sheet with the 10mm margin and title block at the bottom
• Fill in your name, SHEET 3: LOGOS 2 and the date
• Measure 70 mm vertically and draw a light line half way across the page (This is your base line)
• Measure 30 mm horizontally and draw a light line vertically with your Set-square
• Look at Exercise 3 on page 6 of your textbook, work out how far apart should the vertical construction lines should be? Along the base line mark increments at (15mm) apart
• Draw light vertical lines through these points with your Set-square
• On the vertical line, (from where it meets the light horizontal line) measure 150mm and draw a horizontal line with your T-square
• How far apart are the construction lines? Mark off (15mm) increments
• Draw light horizontal construction lines through these points with your T-square
• Look carefully at page 5 of your textbook, draw light construction lines to from the arrow at the top of the diagram
• Looking at page 5 of your textbook, draw thick lines over the construction lines using the T-square and Set-squares (Horizontal and Vertical lines)
• Use your Set-squares to draw tick lines over over the construction lines at an angle (Be careful! just the the length you need)
• From the bottom of the House Guarantee diagram, measure 10mm vertically down and draw a light horizontal guideline, measure a further 5mm and draw another light horizontal guideline.
• Write BUILDING GUARANTEE between these guidelines
• From the top of the Building Guarantee diagram, measure 30 mm horizontally and draw a vertical line. This is the divides the sheet in two.
• In the second box, measure 50 mm vertically and draw a light line across the second half of the page
• Measure 25 mm along this base line. This will be the bottom left corner of your diagram.
• Look at Exercise 4 on page 6 of your textbook, work out how far apart should the vertical construction lines should be? Along the base line mark increments at (15mm) apart
• Draw light vertical lines through these points with your Set-squares
• On the vertical line, (from where it meets the light horizontal line) measure 150mm and draw a horizontal line with your T-square
• How far apart are the construction lines? Mark off (15mm) increments
• Draw light horizontal construction lines through these points
• Look carefully at page 5 of your textbook, draw light construction lines to match the diagram in Exercise 4
• Looking at page 5 of your textbook, draw thick lines over the construction lines using your Set-squares to get a neat diagram (Be careful! just the the length you need)
• From the bottom of the star diagram, measure 10mm vertically down and draw a light horizontal guideline, measure a further 5mm and draw another light horizontal guideline.
• Write STAR between these guidelines
Sheet 4 (CAO logo: UTG, page 9) CHALLENGE FOR YOUR TEAM
• You will try this question in your pairs and on your own!
• Line out the sheet with the 10mm margin and title block at the bottom
• Fill in your name, SHEET 4: LOGOS 3 and the date
• Measure 70mm vertically and draw a light construction line across the page with your T-square(This is your base line)
• Measure 70mm horizontally and draw a light construction line vertically with your Set-square
• This will give you the bottom left corner of your diagram (CAO Logo, Exercise 1 on Page 9 of your textbook)
• Measure along the horizontal line and mark off the measurements shown in the diagram, Exercise 1 on Page 9 of your textbook
• Draw light construction lines through these marks with the Set-square
• Measure along the vertical line and mark off the measurements shown in the diagram, Exercise 1 on Page 9 of your textbook
• Draw light construction lines through these marks with the T-square
• Looking at the diagram on page 9 of your textbook, draw thick lines over the construction lines using your T-Square and Set-squares (Be careful! just the the length you need)
