I called my first dance at an open mic callers night in December of 2008 during Winter Dance week at the John C. Campbell Folk School and have been hooked ever since! I trained under Bob Dalsemer at the Folk School in June of 2009. I call Contras, Southern Squares, Circles and other dances. I have experience with all kinds of groups and settings including kids, teens, families, college students, advanced dancers, mixed groups, weddings, private parties, and other special programs. I have since called dances throughout the region including Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

I joined the Boone Country Dancers steering committee in March 2011 where I was the Secretary and Booker until I moved to the Raleigh/Durham area. I coordinated a bi-monthly dance at Appalachian State University between May 2008 and December 2009. Building community through music and dance has been a huge part of my life. I am passionate about getting new folks into the dance community while still keeping things fun and interesting for long-term dancers.

I started a Family Dance series in my hometown on Apex, NC where people of all ages can dance together to great music. We offer these dances thanks to the United Arts Council at the Halle Center in historic downtown Apex.

I'm also available for special events such as weddings, parties, school groups, fundraisers, and other cultural arts activities. I am well suited for "one night stand" gigs with my easy-going, enthusiastic style and extensive repertoire of accessible and fun dances. I've written a few dances that I am happy with that you can check out on my Dance Composition page.
