CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Adventure in Blue - Cyanotype Bandanas Create a unique bandana using cyanotype, an early photography method. This sun printing process blends chemistry, art, and nature into a fun, hands-on project. Need to Bring: $4.00 to cover all costs and bring or collect natural items (think leaves, ferns, flowers anything with a cool shape!). We’ll arrange them on our bandanas and let the sun do its thing to create the cyanotype “exposure”. Items can be collected at camp.
Axe Me about My Saw- Uncomfortable working with sharp things at camp? Or having your girls use them? Review and practice with a variety of sharp tools--knife, saw, hatchet, and axe. Need to Bring: If you have it, bring a pocket knife or sheath knife, bow saw or folding saw, hatchet with a sheath, and light axe with a sheath.
Bookmarks 3 Ways- Learn to create three different types of bookmarks: one using paperclips, one using washi tape, and one using braided paper., Need to Bring: Scissors and Glue Stick
Canoe and Kayak For Fun- Come to the beach for some fun on the water. Need to Bring: Towel and water shoes
Canvas Cross Stitch- Learn how to cross stitch a design on a canvas. Need to Bring: Yarn Needle
Cinnamon Stick Christmas Tree- With cinnamon stick as the trunk, tie on greenery and ribbon to make the branches. Add a snowflake or star as the topper. Need to Bring: Scissors
Continental Campfire- Breakfasts from around the world made over the campfire. Learn new and different meals and cooking styles. Need to Bring: mess kit with dunk bag
Diamond Art Fun- Enjoy the fun of Diamond Art. Need to Bring: A magnifying glass.
First Aid/CPR/AED- This is a certification class through American Heart Association that requires online participation before arriving at camp. You will be contacted by the instructor with a link to complete the classwork. This course is an additional $25.
Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine- Have a sewing machine that’s been sitting around your house but you don’t know how to use it? Would you like to learn some basic sewing techniques that could help your Girl Scouts learn to sew? Need to Bring: A home sewing machine, the sewing machine manual and a basic sewing kit
Google Sheets for Troop Travel Budgets- Learn how to use Google Sheets to track troop trip budgets, fundraising income, and expenses while keeping travel planning organized and stress-free. Need to Bring: Optional: tech with access to Gmail account
Global Grazing- Ready to snack your way around the world? Join us as we mix, dip, crunch, and taste our way through a variety of international-inspired appetizers and dips. It’s the perfect blend of food, fun, and friendship! Need to Bring: Your favorite dipper to share (chip, pretzel, veggie etc)
Jeweled Keychains or Zipper Pulls- Create a beautiful and practical beaded keychain (or zipper pull). Need to Bring: If you have them, bring wire cutters and bead crimpers.
Kid Card Games- Learn some fun card games to play with kids of all ages
Lashing- Learn simple lashing for convenience at campouts. Discuss more complicated projects for more serious camping.
Learn To Crochet- Always wanted to crochet, but don’t know how? Come learn the basics of crocheting. Need to Bring: Patience
Let's Make Some Ice Cream- Make your own ice cream at camp without a freezer!
Light My Fire- Need a refresher on fire safety and how to build a fire? Uncomfortable building fires with your girls? This is the class for you! Need to Bring: Box of matches, couple of tea lights or birthday candles, and Bayite 4 Ferocerium Rod (~$14) or Uberleben Zunden Ferocerium Rod (~$18).
Making your Own Cards 101- Basics of creating your own cards with very little expense Need to Bring:small container of glue &small, sharp scissors
Melt and Pour Soap- Learn to make cute melt and pour soaps
Mexican Cuisine 101- Learn about authentic Mexican cuisine Need to Bring: Questions to Ask
Morse Code Bracelets- Learn basic Morse code and make a corded bracelet with a basic message (your name, affirmation, etc.). Need to Bring: Scissors
One Bandana, Endless Adventures- Come for the hike, stay for the “I never thought of that!” moments. We’ll see just how many creative uses we can dream up for a humble bandana while hiking Camp Todd’s Nature Trail. Need to Bring: Bandana
Organize Troop Travel With Google Drive- Learn how to use Google Drive to organize itineraries, forms, contacts, and trip documents for smoother, stress-free troop travel adventures. Need to Bring: Optional: tech with access to Gmail account
Petit Four Basket- Learn to make an adorable basket which can be used for storing small items or gifting cookies, or candy.
Put a Bow On It- Bows dress up everything, for any season. We can make different sizes and colors with ribbon i will provide. Bring a spool of ribbon if you have a special preference. Need to Bring: Scissors
Put a Cork In It- Crafts using wine corks. Need to Bring: Sharp Knife
Recycle to Treasures- Make you common trash items into an item of beauty. Need to Bring: scissors, tacky glue, and a smile!
Resin Sea Creatures and Other Critters- Learn about the art of resin craft while you create your favorite sea creature. Choose from a selection of designs including sea horses, turtles, and more.
Scrapbooking Basics- Love to take pictures? If yes, then scrapbooking is for you! Learn the basics or some new techniques. Need to Bring: 4-8 pictures from the same event or with the same people
Scorching Paint- Wood burned decorating without the actual tool. Using stencils we’ll create a burned wood look on coasters.
Seasonal Wreaths- Seasonal Wreaths for multiple occasions! Need to Bring: Wire cutters if handy but not necessary
S'More Fun- Tired of the traditional S’mores? Learn new and fun ways to “spice up” s’mores time with your troop.
Squishpet Stuffies- Learn to make cute squishable stuffed animals Need to Bring: 1 yard of fleece fabric, any color.
Straw Weaving- Learn to weave yarn in straws. Need to Bring: Yarn of Choice
Traveling with My Gnomies!- Come make a globetrotting holiday gnome! Need to Bring: One solid color adult crew sock or knee high, one patterned crew or knee high sock. Any pattern will work but be sure it looks good upside down, as this sock will be your gnome's hat.
Tree of Life Painting- Make an acrylic painting on a 11x14 canvas Need to Bring: Enjoyment of creating art!
US Flag Retirement Ceremony- Flag Retirement process. Need to Bring: US Flag that needs to be retired. (If you have one)
World Songs and Games- Be ready to sing and play! Learn songs and games from around the world in this fun and interactive workshop. Perfect for World Thinking Day. Need to Bring: A willingness to sing and play.
Worldly Decoupage- Decoupage on a variety of mediums; experiment and create Need to Bring: Small sharp scissors
Your Cell Call in 1912- Cell phones are the primary communication tool in 2026, BUT not in 1912 when Girl Scouts began meeting. How did they communicate? Vintage Girl Scout resources can help us learn and practice methods of communication used a century ago.
