Susanna Shon, President

Susanna has exclusively and actively been involved with TICA since 1984 when she began showing and breeding Siamese & Orientals under the cattery name of “Purrsia” ...

In 2002 she founded and was President of “Cats And The City” a TICA cat club located in Vancouver British Columbia. In 2007 she moved to Las Vegas, NV and the following year started “Cats And Sin City”. Also in 2007 she began working with a minority breed known as "Peterbald".

Susanna is a licensed TICA Judge, Ring Clerk, Master Clerk and Entry Clerk. She currently serves as TICA Peterbald Breed Chair. Susanna and her husband Steven, realized a personal highlight showing IW SGG Purrsia Mathilda who surpassed all of their goals to become TICA’s first International winning Peterbald in the 2013/14 season following that up with 6 International winning Peterbalds of their breeding the following six consecutive years. This past season, they reached an all time high of having bred and shown, IW SGC Purrsia Pardonne Moi "Beatrice" who ended the season tied for the spot of TICA Cat of the Year!

In her personal life, Susanna was born in Germany and moved to Calgary, Alberta as a young girl. After college she moved to Vancouver, British Columbia where she owned a successful employment agency in Burnaby & New Westminster, British Columbia before retiring in 2006 and making the move to the US. Susanna has written several articles for magazines about various breeds while continuing to promote a minority breed. She believes in educating and mentoring new breeders.

Jackie Rose, Vice President

Jackie joined the cat fancy in 1987 with a Himalayan named Spike. She

bred Persians and Himalayans with her last litter having been born in 2005.

Having shown in other associations including American Cat Association

(ACA) while living in Burbank, California, a permanent home was found

in TICA. For the most part, Jackie has been a lifelong resident of beautiful Colorado and in her town, she has lived in three different

houses, all within three blocks of one another.

Although Persians, Himalayans & Exotic Shorthairs are her favorite of the

breeds, she has owned many other terrific breeds with each being special for their beauty, personality and love of "mom". Jackie has also

agented, lived with or owned British Shorthair, Norwegian Forest Cats and Sphynx.

Currently Jackie is showing a wonderful Bengal named Bee and a rather lovable Peterbald named Chelsey.

On any given night you can find Dill the Siamese, Boo the British Longhair and random Household pets snuggled up in bed (or under the covers) with Jackie, Chelsey and Bee. Every once in a while, they even make room for her husband Jay!

Steven Shon, Treasurer

Dr. Steven Shon was an avid cat lover as a child and began breeding and showing cats in Texas in 1991 with his late wife Janet Shon under the well respected cattery name of "Shonstar". He and Janet bred Siamese and Orientals exclusively but also owned Aby's and Bengals and both were active members of several TICA clubs in Texas. Since 2007 he has been breeding and showing top award winning Peterbalds with his wife Susanna under the cattery name of "Purrsia". Steven and Susanna are proud to have bred and shown TICA's first ever International Winning Peterbald during the 2013/14 show season and followed that up with a second International winning Peterbald the following season and are poised for a third IW this season.

Steven was born in Los Angeles, CA, attended college at the University of Southern California where he graduated with honors. He then attended medical school at the University of California San Francisco and completed his residency in psychiatry at the same institution.

He started several public mental health programs in the city of San Francisco, which has since become the largest contract agency in that city. He was appointed Medical Director for the California Department of Mental Health, the youngest person ever to hold that position and served under both Democrat and Republican administrations. In Texas he held the position of Deputy Director and then Medical Director for their mental health and mental retardation state agency.

Currently semi retired and living in Las Vegas, Steven is an avid poker player, enjoys shooting, sports and reading. He is actively involved with showing and breeding Peterbalds and can often be found clerking at shows.

Cindy Raleigh, Secretary

Cindy is originally from the Midwest but has been a Las Vegas resident for well over a decade now. She shares her home with her husband, her son, several Turkish Van’s and a Peterbald. Cindy has been with CASC for a little over a year and is an active and very involved member. She has had cats for most of her life and this past season, has shown a lovely Turkish Van alter named Hera.

Cindy is very quickly becoming familiar with all aspects of showing and show management along with the many breeds TICA recognizes competitively. Along with being a very valuable member of our group, Cindy is intelligent, warm, friendly and exceptionally efficient. While moving things forward and keeping Susanna in check, she’s a ton of fun and very easy to work with.
